Frequently Asked Questions
Do you still offer wedding services?
Nope! I’ve shifted my focus to selling exclusively at markets and pop-up events. This allows me to prioritize balance and sustainability for my business long-term.
What services do you provide?
You can find me year-round at local farmers markets, pop-ups, and events. Be sure to check the Markets page to see where I’ll be next!
The Treats of the Month Club is currently on pause for 2025. I’m taking this time to focus on markets and improving the customer experience. I plan to bring it back in 2026, so stay tuned!
Why don’t you sell online or take custom orders?
In 2025, I’m focusing on selling exclusively at markets and pop-ups. This helps me manage my workload, improve my processes, and maintain the joy that comes from creating baked goods for my customers.
Custom orders and online sales take a lot of time and energy to coordinate, so for now, I’m keeping things simple.
Where are you located?
I run Gem City Bakehouse out of my home in Kettering, Ohio. Since this is a private residence, I don’t publish my address.
For market events, the location will be shared on the Markets + Pop-Ups page and event listings. If you’re a Treats of the Month Club member (when it returns), the pickup address will be provided after payment.
Why can’t I customize your menu items for my dietary needs?
Each item I offer has been rigorously tested to ensure the perfect balance of taste and quality. Substituting ingredients like gluten-free or dairy-free alternatives requires additional testing because results can vary.
Rest assured, I’m always testing recipes with alternative ingredients to make them reliable and delicious. If I add a new gluten-free or dairy-free item, you’ll see it on my menu! Everyone deserves great-tasting baked goods.
Do you accept free orders in exchange for social media exposure?
No, I cannot accept orders in exchange for “exposure” or services—unfortunately, exposure doesn’t pay my bills!
However, I love supporting the local community and am happy to work with nonprofits and charitable organizations when possible.
For charity or donation inquiries:
Please contact me with your request. I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to fulfill unpaid orders, but I do my best to contribute when I can. I’ll respond to your message within 5 business days.
Why did you change your name?
In the spring of 2019, I rebranded from “The Little Pink Bakery” to “Gem City Bakehouse”, and in March 2020, I officially became Gem City Bakehouse, LLC.
I chose the name “Gem City” as a nod to Dayton’s nickname and added “bakehouse” to reflect my home bakery style. It’s a name that can grow with me and my business into the future, and I’m so grateful for your continued support!
